Well discuss one of the hottest issues of our time, the legality of current warfare techniques, beginning with the basic concepts of the international law of armed conflicts. Well examine the four core doctrines of proportionality, military necessity, distinction and unnecessary suffering; the doctrine of collateral damage; and the legal definition of war crime. We will then apply these basic ideas to the United States use of targeted killing and the use of drones to accomplish this. Please register at the link below.
