"Celebrating the Sesquicentennial" by Liz Kowalchuck, Chairperson of the KU Sesquicentennial Committee

In March, 1865, the Kansas Board of Regents elected Reverend Robert W. Oliver as the first Chancellor of the University of Kansas at Lawrence. During the school year 2015-2016, KU and Lawrence will celebrate 150 years of educating leaders, building healthy communities, and making discoveries that change the world. Liz Kowalchuk, chair of the sesquicentennial Committee, will share some of the upcoming plans and invite the University-Community Forum to participate and develop activities that contribute to the years events.

University-Community Forum is one of the programs offered by the Ecumenical Campus Ministries at the University of Kansas. This is a series of presentations by faculty, students, and community members to educate and facilitate dialogue on ideas and events that shape our society. This event is hosted every Wednesday during the spring semester at the ECM, which is at 1204 Oread Avenue. Presentations are 12-1pm and option lunch is served at 11:30am. It costs $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for students.
