OMB Circulars Workshop: "A-21 Cost Principles for Educational Institutions" (Learn about KU - Administrative Functions)

Tuesday February 11, 2014
8:30am - 11:30am
Simons Laboratories, Auditorium
U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars A-21 and A-110 provide the regulatory framework under which federal agencies make financial awards to universities to sponsor research and educational projects. The Office of Research is conducting two workshops to familiarize employees with these documents. The workshops do not presume prior familiarity with the circulars but will go into some detail. Recipients will receive copies of both circulars for future reference. On February 11, the topic is A-21: Cost Principles for Educational Institutions. This will include basic information on the determination of allowable and unallowable costs and facilities and administrative costs rate development. On February 17, the topic is A-110: Grants and Agreements with Institutions of Higher Education: Uniform Administrative Requirements. This session will cover basic pre-award requirements, with a focus on financial and program management during the life of a federal award.
