MERCOSUR and Latin American Regionalism (Conference)

In the context of KU's Bold Aspirations Strategic Initiative Theme 3: Building Communities, Expanding Opportunities and the Center of Latin American and Caribbean Studies' theme for this year: Natural Resources and Environment, this conference intends to foster an interdisciplinary dialog that explores the implications of regionalism and economic integration on three key issues: (1) land use and the environment; (2) intra-regional trade, income distribution and migration; and (3) regional political cooperation. Speakers include: David S. Brown, Prof. of Political Science, U of Colorado; Jeffrey Cason, Dean of International Programs, Edward C. Knox Professor of International Studies and Political Science, Middlebury College; Kregg Hetherington, political anthropologist specializing in environmental conflict, economic regulation, international development in Latin America; and Gabriel Ondetti, Assoc. Prof. of political science, Missouri State U.
