"Las Cruces...Next Village" (Film)

Thursday February 14, 2013
7:00pm - 9:00pm
Stauffer-Flint Hall, Room 100
Set in the 1980s, the film tells the story and fatal destiny of a community nestled in the mountain at the time that a select group of seven guerrilla fighters, six men and a woman, burst into the life of the village, Las Cruces. Miraculously Las Cruces avoided a direct attack, but its small population lives in constant fear of being razed as several of the surrounding villages have been reduced to ashes with no survivors. In the past few months, guerrilla forces in the area of Las Cruces have been seriously beaten. The peace process has started outside the national borders, but not soon enough for everyone in Las Cruces.
